Let the light shine with HospiceWits Tree of Light

The HospiceWits Tree of Light celebration has become a firm favourite event on the calendar. Each year, we get a chance to honour our loved ones who have passed away with a celebration of light, music and entertainment.

This year’s Tree of Light will take place at Sacred Heart College on 2 December. The festivities begin at 5pm and end at 8pm. You will have a chance to purchase a globe before or at the event, giving you the opportunity to remember a loved one while celebrating their life. You can also purchase a flameless candle or even a bauble for your Christmas tree at the event.

Bring along your own picnic basket or purchase your snacks from the Sacred Heart College tuckshop or one of the food vendors that will be at the event. Entrance is free and secure parking is available at R40 per car.

The Sacred Heart College’s Marimba Band will start the evening’s entertainment, and MCs for the night is Y-FM host Pabi Moloi. Facepainting will also be available for the kids, and some adults too.

Enjoy a performance by Gogo’s Christmas Confusion. The night will be filled with superb music from artists such as Oscar, Dez Peterson, Bunny Majaja and Boki Ntsime. A magnificent laser show will also be held towards the end of the evening as LaserX dazzle the audience with their tribute of dancing light.

A minute of silence will be held in order to commemorate all those friends and family who have passed away.

All funds made from the sale of globes, candles and other merchandise will go to HospiceWits to assist them in continuing to care for those in need in the greater Johannesburg and Soweto area.

Join us as we honour all those we have loved and celebrate their lives and light up the Jozi sky with the light of hope, love and remembrance.
